Shandong University of Technology (SDUT)

Founded in 1956, the Shandong University of Technology (SDUT) is located within the ancient city of Zibo – the cradle of Qi culture and heritage — in the Shandong Province of the People’s Republic of China (PRC). One of the topmost provincial seats of higher learning and research, SDUT is directly managed by the People’s Government of Shandong Province.
The institution has already carved a niche for itself in the fields of engineering and science. Since its inception five decades ago, SDUT has several top professionals as its alumni.

MILESTONES

The Shandong University of Technology has a number of feathers on its cap. Here we list just a few of the prominent ones:

• SDUT is a key national grooming hub for the teachers in the Vocational Education sector monitored by the Chinese Ministry of Education.


• In the Shandong Province, SDUT is a Model College in the field of Enterprise Education.


• The University has a prominent slot in the domain of research and analysis of students particularly in the field of culture. It is the research center on the Education of Cultural Qualities of students in the Shandong Province.


• In the crucial field of Talent Cultivation Pattern Innovation, the institution became the National Experiment Zone in 2007.


• SDUT is also a certified training center to evaluate teaching at the undergraduate level.


• The Ministry of Education formally gave its nod to the institution to be able to develop the programs for the research scholars to make them eligible for the doctorate degree.

PROGRAMS & COURSES

The Shandong University of Technology offers master’s degree in 43 programs and also offers 63 undergraduate courses. Its syllabus stresses on a coordinated upgrading of the faculties of its pupils. The University’s wide variety of disciplines includes economics, engineering, history, law, literature, management, pedagogy and science.

SCHOOLS & ENROLLMENT

Altogether 21 Schools are affiliated to SDUT. Every academic year, these schools together enroll more than 40,000 students. Of them, more than 1,500 students get admitted in the various postgraduate courses and over 35,000 are enrolled in the full-time associate degree courses and the undergraduate streams.

INFRASTRUCTURE

The sprawling Wi-Fi enabled campus of Shandong University of Technology is spread over an area of 2.4 million square meters. Its serene and picturesque evergreen surroundings reflect the wonderful harmony between Man and Nature. All in all, the backdrop offers an ideal academic and research ambience.

The total floor space of the institution is 1.29 million square meters. The sports arena dedicated to the development of the mind, physique and personality of the students covers 175,700 square meters. There are 208 auditoriums equipped with high-tech gadgets and state of the art technology. It has 16 labs jointly set up by the local Government as well as the Central Government of the country. It also manages six Experiment Teaching Centers to further the Mainstay Disciplines and two Model Centres focusing on Experiment Teaching — both are directly monitored by the Shandong Provincial Government. What is more, the University runs the Analysis and Test Center and the Education Technology Center — both of which are platforms meant for public service.

The University library is a treasure trove of tomes on varied subjects. There are 4.65 million volumes of books. Of this, 2.1 million volumes are available in the electronic mode. Besides, the library has a collection of 26, 971 types of journals in foreign and Chinese languages.
