Sichuan University (SCU)

The Sichuan university (SCU) is a national seat of higher learning located in the ancient city of Chengdu in the People’s Republic of China (PRC). The institution is included in the country’s prestigious Project 985 aimed at upgrading the sectors of academics and research.

TRACING THE ROOTS

With a history dating back to more than 100 years, SCU is the largest university in the South West of China. This education hub has been known for its rich and scholarly research tradition.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION

In order to qualify for admission into the four or five year undergraduate program, one needs to have a high school diploma and a health certificate. For admission in the three year masters’ degree program, a bachelor degree certificate and a certificate of passing the Chinese examination is necessary. Students who have two years working experience in a field of study related to the course studied at the graduate level, or those who have been recommended by at least two professors and approved to be qualified by the university, are eligible for admission into the masters program.  A health certificate is of course required.

STUDENTS

Regarded as one of the top schools of the country as far as subjects like Medicine, engineering, natural sciences, liberal arts and management are concerned; SCU has more than 60,000 students undergoing their studies in the various programs offered by the university. More than 1,042 students are also pursuing their studies in the university.
